Progressive Living is an established, independent company, based in Woodham Mortimer, Essex. We design and install home entertainment systems for new builds, renovations and home improvements. Good to know: - we are not tied in to any particular suppliers or product menu - we undertake all associated small building works - all our staff are ECA (Electrical Contractors Association) qualified - we are 'manufacturer approved installers' for every system we supply A bit of background: Malcolm set up the company in 2006 in response to the growing trend in media integration. The business continues to grow and evolve with Malcolm's intention remaining very clear - creating powerful yet easy to use media systems backed by extensive product knowledge and a strong focus on beautiful design. Malcolm's expertise stems from an obsession with everything A/V, a Masters in Engineering, 15 years industry experience as a Design Engineer plus the completion of 2 home renovation projects, with the 3rd in progress... Our customers appreciate his knowledgeable and informal approach with a high standard of finish.

Our starter packages might be cheaper than you'd think. A wireless system which gives access to all your music from a handheld controller can be supplied for under £500. You can then add additional speakers in up to 30 rooms – giving you the flexibility to listen to any song in any room, or indeed the same song in every room - including the garden. Our modular philosophy means all systems are upgradeable, allowing you to add functionality and embrace new technology as and when your budget allows.

Our retro-fit systems give total flexibility over the scale of your investment – we can install a single room or a whole property with intelligent lighting – the decision is yours. With our wireless technology, this can all be achieved without the need for messy and costly re-wiring.
Our top-end systems literally have no boundaries. We've had some challenging (and slightly obscure) requests from customers over the years - all in a day's work for us. It's the challenges that make life interesting. You’ll never hear ‘that can’t be done’ from us. Our emphasis on up-front design means every detail is considered before any physical work is undertaken, we can even provide full 3D CAD visualisations to ensure you're happy with the design.
Relatively straightforward installation of a HD Plasma and surround system. As the room was being redecorated, it gave the perfect opportunity to hide all necessary cables within the walls. We also took the liberty of running additional wiring, thus allowing the client to expand and upgrade the system in the future with minimum upheaval. All wiring schematics were left with the client, so additional components could be added 'DIY-style'. The setup was controlled by a single colour touchscreen remote control – so intuitive even the adults worked it with ease!
Having contacted us at the project outset, this client wanted a future-proof solution for their new family home – right up our street! After listening to the 'wish-list' from both adults and kids, we liased directly with the architect to create wiring schematics and provision of space for all equipment to fit their needs - both now and for the future. Regular site visits ensured everything was carried out to our spec. The client is now able to extend and upgrade the setup as and when the budget permits - safe in the knowledge that the wiring infrastructure is already in place.
With a passion for music, this client wanted the functionality of a multi-room setup, without losing his beloved Hi-Fi. No problem we said. Storing all their music in an uncompressed format meant no loss in quality for the audiophile, while still giving the rest of the family instant access to all their favourite tunes. The house had recently been decorated which meant we had to keep disruption to a minimum - Our expert team managed to complete the installation with no redecoration necessary since all wiring was hidden from view in the ceilings and loft void. Total installed cost £3000.
